Sunnyslope Soils Analysis Project Homepage

The Sunnyslope Soils and Weather network is a collection of weather stations and soil moisture stations at 10 vineyard sites along the Sunnyslope Wine Trail. This is the first regional vineyard environmental monitoring network in Idaho.

Each vineyard-located station is equipped with mast-mounted instruments that measure, record, and report hourly conditions of air temperature at canopy height, relative humidity, vapor pressure, wind speed and direction, precipitation, and insolation.

Each station also has four to five soil moisture and temperature probes measuring and recording those parameters at depths between 15 and 75 cm. Soil conditions are recorded from both dry (non-irrigated) and wet (irrigated) locations.
